(See photo) You never know in advance when this plant will bloom.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOnce the flower has finished blooming, the mother plant may die. This doesn't always happen, and if you're lucky she'll produce a 'pup'. A pup is a small offshoot that grows from the side of the plant. Once it's 1\/3 the size of the mother plant, you can carefully twist the pup off.
