Rose of Jericho
Rose of Jericho
The Rose of Jericho (Selaginella lepidophylla) is a plant that can dry out completely, remain in that condition for years, and yet after adding water, can fully open up and become green again within a few hours. The process of bringing the Rose of Jericho to bloom is as follows; Pour her with cold, warm, hot, or even boiling water. New life comes into the lifeless leaves. After a few hours the rose has become beautifully full and green. Place the rose in a plate and give it fresh water every day. The Rose of Jericho may only remain moist for 8 days (lay dry and warm). After about 2 days the rose has dried completely again, so that you can repeat this spectacle again and again
